My mandatory TB test at work was negative, I seem to have slept away the summer flu I was afraid to get after experiencing the first symptoms Friday noon, my final exams are over and Nigeria won against
the Netherlands in the Confederations Cup during the "Elfmeterschiessen" which I think is called, "Sudden death play-off" here. I love it when the underdogs win with guts, artistic ballplay and willpower against the tactic manouvers of the super teams. Well, the payback for my gloating came right afterwards: Germany lost against Brazil with 2:3 and is out. Brazil was beatable this time; they did not play well because they are not presenting themselves as a team but rather as a bunch of superstars doing their individual thing. However, Klinsman's young team is to unexperienced to take this chance. The Mexicans did. Too many German passes did not reach the addressed player and the confusion helped Brazil to score. Although Germany is out of the cup now, I think coach Klinsman took the right decision to build a young new team instead of letting the old experienced dogs play the cup. At some point, the old dogs are getting really old and then the gap is really big for a new generation of German players to catch up with the superstars. The young team did well in their international debut, and they still have time to grow together until the World Cup will be their big finale of the season.
