Script Frenzy

I just got reminded by my novel writing buddies at the OVC that Script Frenzy starts on June 1. I had signed up a few months ago but totally forgot about it. I immediately checked out my profile and posted in the forum to let people know that munichmaedchen is in. This will be my first movie script which needs to have a 20,000 word minimum in order to call myself a winner on June 30, the official finish. Piece of cake for a 3-year-experienced NaNoWriMo participant. We had to put 50,000 words on the table in order to be a winner and it's all for a good purpose of course, as always. The charity wins at any wordcount. I am torn in between writing a script about the story of my ancestor, the last witch burned at stake in Germany because I can see a great movie coming out of that or I tackle some of my other ideas as I just finished the novel about my ancestor and after the editing process I am kind of exhausted writing about one and the same thing again. Here are two of my other ideas: Mann mit Meeresblick (German title) would be a comedy, a modern gold digger story - a single woman who cannot afford to buy a house with ocean view at Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz and decides therefore to realize this dream by posting an ad on the craigslist personals looking for a "Boyfriend with  Beach View" (English title). Of course the woman who is not really all that superficial will have to survive all kinds of dating adventures until she realizes that the beach view is not everything in life. I have a nice twist in mind I will work into the story but won't tell. Another idea is the story about an older woman who falls in love with a younger man,  "Sex and Frequent Flyer Miles" which would be a Fassbaender-kind of story, just like "Fear Eats Soul."  It will be the love story seen from the woman's view  who is torn between her feelings for her younger boyfriend who gives her the attention she is missing in her dead marriage, the negative reaction of  the society and his conservative family, the impact on her successful career,  and her fear to not being able to keep her lover interested, not even with expensive gifts - this fear will finally eat her soul, will destroy their relationship - or maybe not?. I will give it a second thought what I am going to do. Whatever I will write, I hope I can do that in a South Bay writing group. It's so much better to write in company in a coffee shop than alone at home.
