I finally got my Waeschespinne which would translate into laundry spider. You can't find a garden in Germany without it whereas, when I moved to California 8 years ago, my Cupertino neighbors used to make fun of me when I dryed clothes outside ("fresh off the boat, from the old country" was just one of the comments I heard). I love drying clothes outside and my friend Clay was all for finding an alternative to the energy-consuming dryer. Our electricity bill was almost 50 bucks lower this time. I am sure using my Waeschespinne accounted for that. Clay wonders whether our clothes will get marinated in summer when the garlic scent fills Gilroy's air. I hope not - this would spoil the fun for me. We will see...or better smell.
